How to Use, Clean and Sanitize Your Loofah Sponge (Step-by-Step)
1. Preparation before first use
• Soak the loofah in clean, warm water for about 10-15 minutes to allow the fibers to expand, soften, and remove any remaining dirt from the manufacturing process.
• Rinse thoroughly under strong running water.
• Gently squeeze to remove excess water and allow to air dry before use.

2. How to Use a Loofah Correctly
• Wet the entire loofah with warm water.
• Apply a sufficient amount of body wash (or soap) directly onto the loofah.
• Gently massage in circular motions onto the skin, starting from the feet up to the shoulders. Focus on elbows, knees, and back for effective exfoliation.
• Do not scrub too hard, especially on sensitive or acne-prone skin, to avoid irritation.
• Rinse your body and loofah under running water after showering.
❀ Note: Loofahs should only be used for bathing the body, not the face, as their roughness can damage delicate facial skin.

3. Clean the loofah after each use (Very important!)
• To prevent the growth of bacteria and mold:
+ Rinse immediately: Rinse the loofah under a strong stream of water to completely remove soap, dead skin cells, and excess foam.
+ Squeeze out excess water: Use both hands to wring out firmly or use a clean towel to absorb all the excess water.
+ Dry completely: Hang the loofah in a well-ventilated area with sunlight or outdoors. Absolutely do not hang it in a damp bathroom. Ideally, place it by a window or use a dedicated drying rack.

4. Deeply disinfect the loofah (1–2 times/week)
• Even with daily cleaning, you should still disinfect periodically to kill any bacteria that build up inside.
Method 1: Soak in white vinegar (the most natural and safest method)
+ Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts warm water.
+ Soak the loofah completely in the mixture for 5–10 minutes.
+ Rinse with clean water, wring dry, and air dry.
Method 2: Microwave (quick)
+ Wet the loofah and place it in a heat-resistant bowl with a little water.
+ Microwave on high power for 60–90 seconds. (Be careful when removing as it will be hot!)
+ Let cool, rinse, and air dry.
Method 3: Boiling Water or Hydrogen Peroxide
+ Boil water, then immerse the loofah in it for 3–5 minutes.
+ Alternatively, soak it in a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide (1:1 ratio) for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Method 4: Baking soda (good for deodorizing)
+ Dissolve 2 tablespoons of baking soda in 1 liter of warm water, soak for 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

5. When should you replace your loofah?
• Replace your loofah after 3–4 weeks of use (as recommended by dermatologists).
• Signs that it needs replacing immediately: foul odor, black mold, stiff or torn fibers, and the loofah no longer lathers well.
